Microsoft 365 MFA Setup

To help increase account security Multi-factor Authentications (MFA) are needed for Microsoft 365 Accounts.  To setup MFA for your account please follow the following steps.  If you have any questions please contact out support team.

Step 1: Download Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile Device

  • Go to Microsoft Mobile Phone Authenticator App | Microsoft Security page and scan the QR Code that matches your mobile device type.  This will take you to the store on your device to download the "Microsoft Authenticator" app.

    OR

  • Go to the App Store (Apple Devices) or Play Store (Android Devices) and search for "Microsoft Authenticator" and download the app to your device.  Make sure the app you are downloading is from the Developer "Microsoft", and looks like the images below.  It is free and should not ask you to pay.


Step 2: Enable Multi-factor on your account
  1. Launch web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc.) and go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup
  2. Login with your email account and password
  3. You will then get an Action Required Page displayed, click on the Next Button
  4. You will then get prompted to setup Microsoft Authenticator as shown below, click on the next button on both screens

  5. You will then get prompted to sign a QR Code with your authenticator app. Shown below:

  6. Open Microsoft Authenicator on your mobile device.  If prompted to setup an account just cancel out till you get to the main screen.  When at the main screen click on the "+" Icon in the upper right
  7. Select “Work or school account” and “Scan QR code.”
  8. Scan the QR code on your web browser with the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone and select Next
    on the web browser.
  9. A number will show up in your web browser and you will get a notification on your mobile device.  Enter the number shown on the website into the Authenticator App prompt and click "Yes".

  10. The web browser will now show your MFA is setup, click next
  11. Then click Done
  12. You can then sign out of your browser.
